When using Zeffy the "Help keep Zeffy free for The Salem Woods Civic Association" is optional, it is not a tax write off and does not go to SWCA. Rather it is a contribution to Zeffy for their service they provide us.
Membership fee is $25.00 a year (per household)

What is the purpose of civic association?
Answer: Most people tend to confuse homeowners’ associations (HOA) and civic associations (CA). Though they have similar sounding names, they have stark differences and some similarities. Both kinds of associations ensure maintenance of amenities and spaces created by land developers and both have a board of directors. The civic associations possess similar objectives as homeowners’ associations, but they lack real power since they are formed voluntarily and not legally bound like homeowners’ associations.
